Abstract enThe aim of the study is to determine the behaviors which are defined as disapproved by teachers, teachersâ reactions to these behaviors and teachersâ level of efficiency while handling out disapproved student problems. Research data were collected from 110 high school teachers in İzmir and the structured interview method was used to collect the research data. A content analysis was used during the data analysis. The study established that not listening to the lesson, not taking responsibilities related to lessons, and talking without permission seem especially disturbing to teachers. Teachers who experience disapproved student behaviors claimed that they displayed such negative reactions as insulting the student, punishing him/her, directing them to guidance office as they get them out of the the class and such positive reactions as detecting the reasons of the problem, face to face talking with the student and warning him/her about the disapproved behavior. Half of the teachers stated that they have lacked skills related to handling out disapproved student behaviors.
