Abstract enThis study was carried out to evaluate secondary school studentsâ views towards assignments given in geography lessons. The universe of the study were the secondary school students in Turgutlu district of Manisa province in 2009-2010 academic year the second term, the sampling of the study were 290 students at Milli Piyango Anatolian High School. In the study where general research method was used, the survey developed by Gürlevik (2006) was used as data gathering tool. In the analysis of the data frequency, percentage, arithmetic average, Standard deviation, t test, one way variant analysis and multi comparison test (scheffe) were used. The research studentsâ views towards geography assignments and teacher strategies did not indicate a meaningful variation according to gender but showed a meaningful difference according to their class levels. Students expressed that they do the assignments in geography lessons with pleasure, the assignments are necessary teachers generally follow the process when they give assignments
