Abstract enNew areas of work and specialization in globalizing world urged qualified employees to be employees to be hired. İn this regard the qualification of staff to be employed in tourism is of critical importance in order to sustain the qualify and services. Turkey is a key player in global tourism considering tourism arrivals and receipts. Therefore the qualifications and career expectations of staff to be employed in tourism is crucial. The career development of tourism employees usually begins with the educations period where the employment decision has been made as of 2013, 91 universities has vocational schools offering tourism and hospitality management school. This study examines the career planning process specifically among students of İstanbul University and Gümüşhane University vocational school students. Moreover the study also analyses the general perception of students on tourism industry. İn order to reach this objective the study used a survey method the collect data from students. In the future Most of the participants want to pursue their careers and long-term process they want to take part in senior positions in the tourism industry. Additionally, the result of study generally participants have positive attitude towards the tourism industry
