The aim of this study, which presents a critical perspective on the Turkish and Macedonian dictionaries, is to document the extent of progress of lexicography work on the two languages. The study pursues the answer to the question of what the next steps are to further develop this area. In the introduction section of this comparative study, the objectives, scope, methods and ethics of the study are outlined. Then, an informational and analytical analysis is conducted. In the informational analysis, factual information about the physical properties of Turkish-Macedonian and Macedonian-Turkish dictionaries is provided. In the analytical analysis, examples and the advantages and disadvantages of dictionaries are provided. Finally, the expectations of the general user in social media are researched. The “about the dictionary” section includes the researcher’s comments on the concept of dictionary. In the appendix after the references, the foreword of a sample dictionary is provided as evidence.
