Abstract:

GIBSAN (Govetlik Yarn Industry and Incorporated Company) being the first private yarn factory in Denizli was founded in 1972. It started its domestic and foreign multi-partnered practice production in 1975.The yarn factory which was one of the most important employment resources of Denizli pioneered as it made for exportation, as well. The factory exporting to the USA and many European countries began changing shell and experienced a transition from multi-partnered structure to single boss. The factory witnessing deep union struggles as of 1975 was shaken by fires in 1978, 1979 and 1983. However even these problems did not constitute an impediment to continue the production in the factory. After 2002 the economic woes affected the factory's operation negatively. The first private yarn factory, as an important constituent of industry and textile history of Yarn Industry and Incorporated Company was closed down in 2007
