Abstract:

The fundamental argument of this article that evaluate transformation issue from Osmanlı to Republic of Turkey from the viewpoint of society-state combination are societal dynamics of newly established Republic period. Analysis of class structure consisting of merchant, gentry and bureaucrat is fairly important in order to put forth societal change in this period from the perspective of sociology as readable and understandable,. Actually, realization of industrialization attach as same as Western Industrial Revolution in the given period was closely linked with compromise of this class structure. However, that inclination of merchant and gentry to commerce intead of industrialization that set from bureaucrat to others fairly strenghtened the contradiction among these three social classes. So, the possibility of formation and development of western style society with targeted newly established republic was completely removed. Moreover, That societal transformation which was planned to realize by means of newly established republic means the first disangagement from 5000 years Turkish cultural code taken into account the impossibility of becoming western will be clearly revealed, in a manner of speaking
