The aim of this study was to determine participants’ levels of sports-specific achievement motivation and happiness, and also to reveal the relationship between those concepts 113 male and 55 female students who have studied in School of Physical Education and Sport, Bartın University were involved in this descriptive study. “Sports-Specific Achievement Motivation Scale: SSAMS” developed by Willis (1982) and “The Oxford Happiness Questionaire Short Form: OHQ-SF” developed by Hills and Argyle (2002) were used for data collection tools. Turkish version of the scales respectively was conducted by Tiryaki and Gödelek (1997), by Doğan and Akıncı Çötok (2010). In the analysis of data; to compare the differences in levels of Sports-Specific Achievement Motivation and Happiness according to the demographic characteristics of the participants t-Test, ANOVA and Person Correlation were applied. As to differences between groups, Tukey test was used to determine those. In the findings of the research, a significant difference was found in results of ANOVA in the SSAMS total score according to “duration of sports resume” (p <0.05). With respect to the results of pearson correlation made in oder to evaluate the relationship between total scores of SSAMS and OHQ-SF, a low and positive relation was found between OHQ-SF and SSAMS. A result, it was determined that participants’ level of sports-specific achievement motivation changes according to the various demographic characteristics of them, and that the level of happiness also increase, as the level of sports-specific achievement motivation increase.
