That Arabic was language of science in the Ottomans led to decrease in the number scientific works written in Turkish. The studies of rhetoric which were shaped around Qazvini’s Talhîs al-Miftâh were influenced by this tradition and Turkish rhetoric books remained very few in number. A brief Turkish rhetoric book written by Shariff Ahmad b. Yousef, one of the authors of the sixteenth century, remained as manuscript in the libraries and could not be benefited by the scholarly world. By taking the date of writing of the book into consideration, it is understood that this book is among the first examples of its field. This article aims to present this book into scholarly circles by publishing it and shedding some light onto its scientific value.
