The purpose of this study is to determine marly bare surfaces in central district of Kilis, to monitor, to examine spatial changes that occured during the 26-year period between the years of 1984-2010 over these surfaces, by using remote sensing technology, and to make recommendations for the rehabilitation of these surfaces. In the study in which Landsat TM and Landsat ETM images were used, land use maps were gained by applying method of maximum likelihood in controlled classification to satellite images, and spatial change by years over marly bare surfaces was determined numerically. Covered an area of 12.971ha in 1984, marly bare surfaces became 10.493ha in 1999, and 9.072ha in 2010. In other words, there was a decline of 3.900ha in marly bare surfaces between the years of 1984 and 2010.
