This study was applied to 166 third year student teachers of primary school at Erzincan Education Faculty of Atatürk University. The study was performed during Science Teaching I courses. The aim of this study was to determine the students ability to employ proper teaching methods the concepts and to create appropriate lessons plan for these methods. The student teachers were asked to plan a lesson and select teaching methods for lesson. A descriptive analysis of methods they used and rated lesson plan scores were carried out and evaluated. As a result, the research participants used: 36,75 % collaborative teaching methods, 16,87 % drama , 15,66 % 5E discovery teaching method , 17,47 % direct instruction method and 13,25 % some other teaching methods. Higher scores in good planning were classified as : 32,75 % in collaborative teaching method, 41,42 % in drama , 53,84 % in 5E and 6,67 % in direct instruction method.
