In this study, it is aimed to point out the job satisfaction of chemistry teachers in secondary educations. In the research, a sort of comparison scanning model of the related scanning models was used. The personal properties and job satisfactions of two hundred and one chemistry teachers in Istanbul in 2005-2006 academic year, are identified. Form of the Teacher’s Personal Properties and Minnesota Work Satisfaction Questionnaire Scale (MSQ) are used for collecting data. In the study SPSS 13.0 package programmers was used for statistical analysis of the data. During the evaluation, identifiable analysis for demographical variables, to determine the difference in job satisfaction scale general and sub-factor points (intrinsic satisfaction, extrinsic satisfaction) for demographical variables independent group t-test, Kruskal Wallis-H test, non-parametrical Mann Whitney-U test are used and 0.05 significance is tested. For the variables gender, age, years in service, university graduation branch no significant difference is found in job satisfaction scale general and sub-factor points. There is a significant difference in job satisfaction scale general and sub-factor points for the variables existence of another teacher in the family, status and the kind of school, having in service training, having a master degree, and advancing to became chemistry teacher to others. Some suggestions are brought out in the light of the research results. We expect this research to contribute the new researches and to be a reference for other studies on this subject.
