The aim of this study is to investigate prospective science teachers’ self-efficacy beliefs in their science teaching. Sample of the study was chosen from the Department of Primary Science Teacher Training of Kazım Karabekir Education Faculty of Atatürk University. In order to determine prospective science teachers’ self-efficacy beliefs “Self-Efficacy Belief Scale in Science Teaching ” scale was used. The reliability coefficient for the scale was found as 0.62. This scale consists of “self-efficacy belief” and “expectance for result” sub-scales. Data was assessed by using SPSS packet programme. As a result, it is found that sexuality and high school factors have no satisfically effect the beliefs. Although one of the important finding is candidates have enough beliefs about their science teaching but it will be useful to improve their beliefs because of the importance of self-efficacy concept in teaching.
