This research is study that concerns the evulation of music teacher candidates perception of the pedal using skills and their knowledge level releated to piano pedals. the main objective of the study is to determine music teacher candidates` knowledge level of the using pedals in piano pieces and perception of their own skills. In this context; while the type of high school from which the participant graduated, his overall performance at the piano lessons, the class and the university the attends, generate the independent variables. In order to determine the knowledge and skill levels, the first and fourth grade students who attend in music education department in Gazi, Gazi Osman Paşa, Mehmet Akif Ersoy and Dokuz Eylül Universities, were taken poll. The knowledge level for the right pedal differentiates from the middle and the left pedals. Additionally, considering the poll taken in these four universities, Gaziosmanpaşa University Student` perception levels of knowlewdge and skills are significantly different from the other three.
