This study investigated the effects of computer assisted instruction on achievement of third-year students which studied classroom teaching training program and also investigated their perception about computer assisted instruction. The present research’s data was obtatined by using an achievement test and a form including open-ended questions. A total of 48 third-year students constituted the research sample. According to there research findings, there was a significant difference between groups on the achievement test scores in favor of the experimental group, by contrast there was not any sigficant difference with regard to gender in the groups. Experimental group students listed the advantages of computer assisted instruction that this method makes learning permanent, focuses student attention on the lesson, increasse interest in the course, facilitates remembering, complements lecturing, helps the teacher e.t.c. The same experimental group students listed the disadvantages of computer assisted instruction that this mesthod makes the lessons boring due to continuous presentations, power point presentations makes students sleepy due to the dark environment formed in the classroom, some animations and sound in the slides distract the students’ attention, and hurt the eye due to watching slide shows, and it is being costly.
