In this study, geography and geography education students’ evaluations of their departments based on infrastructure, variety and quality of lectures and implementations were examined. In addition, students’ professional choices about their future and their preparations were examined. Scanning method, which is one of the methods of quantitative research, was used as the research design. Data were gathered through a survey published on the internet. Total of 2000 undergraduate students consisting of 1134 males and 866 females from 27 universities accepting students in Turkey participated in the survey. Students generally evaluated their departments medium-leveled. They evaluated number and variety of lectures and the teaching process close to good level but evaluated the lab facilities, implementations, and field studies as weak. In addition, of geography students, 50% wanted to be teacher and 28% wanted to be academician after graduation. Besides, of geography education students, 73% wanted to be teacher and 17% wanted to be academician. However, most of them do not have enough information about what to do. As a result, the emerging results were discussed and solutions to the problems were presented.
