It is well-known, in Turkey that, a considerable amount of the problems concerning foreign language teaching is because of inadequate teaching strategies. In our country, mostly the traditional methods are used in foreign language teaching and the result is generally unsuccessful too. In solving this problem, using TV commercials in foreign language teaching, which is a new approach, seems to be a solution worths considering. The aim of this research is to cite the essentials that using TV commercials in foreign language teaching as authentic materials depends on. In this context, some applications are discussed concerning the qualities, selection, copying, and applications of TV commercials in classes.
