Abstract:

In the age age, the needs of the elderly are increasing. In developing and developing countries, various measures have been taken to address the predictable problems that the ageing population increases and will bring. However, these measures are not sufficient. Alzheimer’s disease, one of the highly likely diseases that spreads worldwide and leads to global problems, is an important part of this study. The absence of treatment of the disease, the difficulty of diagnosis and the progressive deterioration of the course can lead to major problems for both patients and caregivers. This study compares health policies for the elderly, care policies and care models for Alzheimer’s patients for Germany and Turkey. The issue is addressed both in terms of general aging policies and in terms of Alzheimer's disease. The study, in Turkey and Germany, has made recommendations on what should be done in the long and short term after the current situation is examined. Turkey has sought answers to questions such as how the future aging policies should be and how the policies towards Alzheimer’s patients should be shaped.
