Abstract:

The objective of the class teachers in 2015 Primary 1-4 Mathematics Teaching Program is to study their views on the achievements of the Geometry Learning Area in this study is designed according to the visual scan model. The sampling of the study was formed by 317 class teachers identified by layer sampling from a variety of unselective methods. The scale is used to evaluate the Primary School Mathematics Program as a data collection tool. Data analysis is done with a statistical program. It was analyzed by independent t-test and ANOVA test. The more the teachers’ attitude increases, the program approaches are more positive. Teachers working in the province center found the geometry achievements of the program more positive. Teachers working in schools with a low socio-cultural and socio-economic status have evaluated their achievements more negatively than schools with a medium and good socio-cultural and socio-economic level. A significant part of their teachers found their achievements in the 2015 Primary School 1-4 Mathematics Teaching Program Geometry Learning Area positive, appropriate to the student level, related to everyday life, consistent, clear and understandable. Teachers have positive views for 17 of the 21 items in scale and unstable views for 4. Teachers compared the achievements in the geometry learning field of the 2009 program with the achievements in the geometry learning field of the 2015 program for all class levels in primary school; positive views in terms of the time dedicated to cognitive, sensual, psycho-motor skills and achievements. The results of the 2015 geometry program were found positive by teachers.
