The development of societies is possible by using the factors of production fully and effectively. Labor force, which is the most important production factor sociologically, is defined as the participation of or ready to participate in the production of goods and services by the population of men and women. Although it is not possible to evaluate the labor force independently of women, in almost every society, female participation in the labor force for various reasons has lagged behind the male. There is a huge gap between the genders in terms of both labor force participation and unemployment rate in Turkey. In the study, the factors determining the employment of women were analyzed by ARDL bound test method for 1988-2018 and it was concluded that there was a long-term cointegration relationship between the variables. While the minimum wage level does not have a significant effect on female employment in the long term, the number of married women and the unemployment rate are the most important factors determining female employment. These results illustrate that, the worsening economic conditions in Turkey is the most important decisive factor affecting women's employment
