Kırık Camlar Teorisinin İşletmelere Uyarlanması: Ölçek Geliştirme Çalışması

Abstract:

Bu çalışmanın amacı, işletmelerdeki olumsuz ve etik dışı kitle davranışlarını incelemek üzere geçerli ve güvenilir bir “Örgütsel Kırık Camlar Ölçeği” geliştirmektir. Çalışmanın odak noktasını, Wilson ve Kelling (1982) tarafından geliştirilen “Kırık Camlar Teorisi” oluşturmaktadır. Teoriye göre; denetimsizlik, sahipsizlik ve bakımsızlık hissi uyandıran yerler hızla düzeltilip kontrol altına alınmadığı takdirde suç üretmektedir. Söz konusu suç olgusunu tetikleyen faktörlerin temelinde ise kitle psikolojisi bulunmaktadır. Çalışma, Kırık Camlar Teorisini işletmelerdeki örgüt yapısına uyarlamaktadır. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliliği SPSS 22.0 programı kullanılarak açımlayıcı faktör analizi ile incelenmiş, ölçeğin iki faktörlü yapıyı ölçtüğü lisrel 9.2 programı kullanılarak doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ile doğrulanmıştır. Ölçeğin iç tutarlılık katsayısının 0,92 olduğu görülmüştür. Ölçek 2 faktör ve 13 maddeden oluşmaktadır. Yapılan geçerlilik ve güvenirlik analizleri soncunda, iş hayatında olumsuz kitle davranışlarını inceleyen istatistiki olarak geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek çalışması ortaya konulmuştur. Ölçeğin örgütlerdeki toksitite davranışlar gibi yıkıcı, olumsuz ve arzu edilmeyen davranışlarla ele alınmasında literatüre farklı boyutlar katacağı ve ışık tutacağı düşünülmektedir.

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to develop a valid and reliable of "Corporate Broken Windows Scale", which aims to examine negative and unethical mass behaviors in organizations. The focus of the study is the Theory of Broken Windows developed by Wilson and Kelling (1982). According to the theory, the places that provoke a feeling of lack of control, lack of ownership and lack of care encourage further crimes, if it is not fixed and controlled. The main factors triggering the phenomenon of crime are mass psychology.The study adapts the Theory of Broken Windows to the organizational structure of enterprises. The construct validity of the scale was examined with exploratory factor analysis using SPSS 22.0 software. The scale was confirmed by confirmatory factor analysis using Lisrel 9. 2 program which measures two factor structures. The internal consistency coefficient of the scale was 0.92. The scale consists of 2 factors and 13 items. As a result of the validity and reliability analyzes, a statistically valid and reliable scale study, which examines the negative behaviors in the work life, has been introduced. It is thought that the scale will bring different perspectives and shed light to the literature in dealing with destructive, negative and unwanted behaviors such as toxicity behaviors in organizations.
