Bu çalışmanın amacı İlkokul Matematik Öğretim Programı’nın (2018) , dünyanın en büyük matematik eğitimi organizasyonu National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) tarafından yayımlanan, Principles and Standards for School Mathematics (PSSM) dokümanında yer alan, okul matematiği için belirlenen prensipleri yansıtıp yansıtmadığını ortaya çıkarmaktır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından 2018 yılında yayımlanan, İlkokul Matematik Dersi Öğretim Programı (İMDÖP) oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada, nitel araştırma modelinin desenlerinden belge (doküman) incelemesi kullanılmıştır. Doküman incelemesi ile elde edilen bulguların NCTM tarafından geliştirilen okul matematiğinin prensipleri çerçevesinde betimsel analizi yapılmıştır. 2018’de uygulanmaya başlayan 1, 2, 3 ve 4. sınıf matematik öğretim programı genel olarak, matematik öğretiminde ve öğreniminde yüksek kaliteyi hedefleyen NCTM’ nin okul matematiği için geliştirilen prensiplerini kısmen karşılamaktadır diyebiliriz. Ancak İMDÖP, NCTM’ nin okul matematiği için geliştirilen prensiplerini tam anlamıyla karşılamamaktadır.

The study group of the study is the Primary School Mathematics Education Program published by the Ministry of National Education in 2018. In this study, document analysis of the qualitative research model was used. Descriptive analysis was used in the study. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade mathematics curriculum, which began in 2018, is in general compatible with the principles developed by NCTM for school mathematics. However, the mathematics curriculum does not fully comply with the NCTM principles developed for school mathematics.
