Özet:

The primary purpose of the research is to study the technical, pattern motives and material characteristics of the traditional flat texts of the Azerbaidjan textile culture and to use them as a source of inspiration in new designs to acquire clothing textile characteristics. Traditional items are often used in the textile industry. This trend, especially in the postmodernism process, which was to the end of the 60s, is widely seen in the clothing industry and continues today. This type of design work, which is provided by the transfer of traditional techniques and materials to current designs and also serves the concept of sustainability that is often highlighted today, includes cultural, environmental and economic returns. Therefore, it is believed that it will also contribute to sustainable textile production movements by evaluating the "cecim", "palaz" and "shedde" texts in the group, which in the Turkish classifications corresponds to the group of "right textile spreads" and in Azerbaijan is called "airless roofs" in the current design language. In line with these purposes, three of the traditional Azerbaidjan flat fabric types will be used as a source of inspiration in fabric design and clothing design, with a comprehensive approach and new designs being achieved. In the work process, clothing design and its work material will be dealt with with the understanding of all-balance, taking into account the form-design, color and key relationships.

Özet:

The main purpose of the research; To explore the technical, embroidery, motifs and material features of traditional weaving carpets of Azerbaijan’s weaving culture and use them to gain the quality of fabrics in new designs as a source of inspiration. National elements are often used in textile sector. Especially, in the late 60s during the modern period this trend was very noticeable in the fabric sector which continues nowadays. These kinds of design works have cultural environmental and economic benefits which are often emphasized today serve the concept of sustainability providing the transfer of traditional techniques and materials to the existing designs.  Therefore, the aim of flat-weave carpets such as “jejim” , “palaz” and “shedde” produced in Azerbaijan is to contribute sustainable textile production by evaluating the existing design language.  With the perspective of research three of the traditional Azerbaijani plain weaving types will be used as a source of inspiration in fabric design and garment design by taking a holistic approach and new designs will be achieved. During the working process, garment design and woven fabrics which are its working material will be worked with deductive approach by considering form-pattern, color and touch relations.
