The Customs Union between Turkey and EU which includes only processed agricultural products and industrial goods was put into effect in 1996. However, entering the Customs Union without having a full membership status has carried out some disadvantages for Turkey. Mentioned negativity causing from Turkey’s not being a full member of EU, has brought about some discussions related to Customs Union. The full membership process is in “EU Accession Negotiations” level and it seems unlikely that it will finish with a full membership status in the near future. Therefore, in this study, alternative solutions other than full membership are examined in order to improve the existing and unsustainable position of Turkey. In the light of evaluations, for both it will not interrupt the accession process and the economic benefits Turkey will achieve, it can be said that a modernization in Customs Union will be useful
