Türk-İslam edebiyatının kaynakları arasında yer alan Kur’an-ı Kerim’e ait sûreler ve ayetler, geçmişten günümüze çeşitli yönleriyle lafzen veya manen iktibaslarla yahut manzum tercümeleriyle divan ve mesnevilerde yer almıştır. Kur’an-ı Kerim’in tamamını veya bir parçasını konu alan mensur ya da manzum müstakil eserler yazılmıştır. İlk dönemlerden bu yana Arap, Fars ve Türk, edebiyatları sahasında İslam dininin kutsal kitabı olan Kur’an-ı Kerim, peygamberlerin kıssaları ve mucizeleri ile alakalı olarak yazılan eserlere kaynaklık etmiştir. Sûrelerin bir kısmı kimi zaman şairler i tarafından manzum olarak Türkçeye tercüme edilmiş, kimi zaman da sûrelerin isimleri farklı şiir türlerine konu edilmiştir. Kur’ân sûrelerini konu edinen eserler, Kur’an’da yer alan 114 sûrenin her birinin ismini veya bazı özelliklerini bir beyitte veya birden fazla beyit içerisinde bahsedilmek sûretiyle meydana getirilmişlerdir. Genel itibariyle “Süveri’l-Kur’an” olarak adlandırılan bu eserler, Kur’an-ı Kerim’e ait bazı özelliklerin daha kolay öğretilmesini sağlamak maksadıyla mensur veya manzum olarak kaleme alınmışlardır. Bilinen ilk örnekleri XVI. yüzyıldan itibaren Latîfî, Ahmed-i Dâ’î, Seyyid Muhammed, Şakir Ahmet Paşa ve Senâ’î gibi şairler tarafından ortaya konan bu tür eserlerden biri de Şeyhülislâm Yahyâ Efendi’ye ait olan “Tertîb-i Süveri’l- Kur’ân” adlı eserdir. Bu eser şekil ve muhteva hususiyetleri itibariyle ele alınıp incelenecek, çalışmada, tek nüshası tespit edilen metnin transkripte haline yer verilecektir.
