Abstract:

This article discusses the role of Hüseyin Mazlum Bababalım , the first term Denizli deputy of TBMM, and his family in the national struggle era. Hüseyin Mazlum, who was the last tekkenişin of historical Dediği dervish lodge and its resident, advanced to the caliphate post within the Bektashism. His sons, Süleyman, Cafer Sadık and Mümtaz, had fought in different fronts in the First World War. Among them, Süleyman fell as a martyr in the Galicia front. As for Cafer Sadık and Mümtaz, they fought against Greek forces with the thunderbolt platoon that they founded during the national struggle era in the Aydın-Köşk-Denizli region. They took part in the Denizli incident, and thereafter they continued the fight within the 57st division. Cafer Sadık fell martyr while the Lozan negotiations were ongoing. As to Huseyin Mazlum, within this period he attended the Congress of Nazilli as a representative of Tavas, and then was one of the five deputies sent from Denizli to the first TBMM, where he took an active role in the Assembly. With these activities, the Bababalım Family was a significant part of the national struggle in the Denizli-Tavas region, in the Aydın Front and in the first TBMM
