Occupational burnout is a process that effects the productivity and efficacy of the organization and decreases the performance of it. This study investigated level of burnout of 239 nurses who are working in two different university hospitals and two public hospitals in different clinics. The level of burnout was measured with the” Maslach Burnout Inventory”. Correlations between sub dimensions were searched and the differences between groupswere examined with the test of ANOVA. Results showed that emotional exhaustion and depersonalization dimensions had high correlations with general burnout and while the level of burnout among nurses changed depending on education level, age and duration at work; marital status and the clinics working in had no significant effect.
