Özet:

Technoparks, bridging science and technology infrastructure of universities with industry, are important formations in innovation systems. While there are several studies investigating the role of technoparks in the literature, particularly there is no study assessing technoparks in terms of patent system in Turkey. This study investigates the roles of Turkish technoparks in patent production from national innovation system perspective.The data obtained from both the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the survey conducted in technology development zones (TDZs), İstanbul Technical University (İTÜ), Ankara and TÜBİTAK-Marmara Research Center (TÜBİTAK-MAM) and Middle East Technical University (METU) are analyzed in this study. Results reveal the unique characteristics of tehcnoparks such as the strongest relationships with the university are fostered in METU and more knowledge spillovers through utilization of common areas and the highest number of patents exists in ITU.
