Hate speech has begun to gain new dimensions as the Internet is being used by broad masses and the number of user-derived content on new media platforms has begun to gain new dimensions: Contents that promote violence, racist, sexist, derogatory, hostile, polarizing and otherizing discourses reaching out to a greater number of people faster on new media channels and getting into circulation. When we look at the literature of hate speech, it is seen that the people who are most exposed to hate speech are LGBTQIA individuals, ethnic and religious minorities, foreigners, immigrants, refugees, women, people with disabilities and various illnesses. Recently, millions of Syrians migrated to other countries because of civil war in Syria. The expressions containing hate speech on new media channels can be produced directly against these Syrian refugees as well as on traditional media channels in countries where they are migrating. The purpose of the study is to reveal the hate speech produced against Syrian refugees on YouTube and what kind of rhetoric goes into the foreground. In this study, YouTube videos containing hate speech against Syrian refugees are analyzed by Teun A. van Dijk's critical discourse analysis method. A preliminary study for this study shows that Syrians have been exposed to many insults, defamation, racism and hostility on YouTube videos and in this sense Syrian refugees have become one of the subjects of online hate speech.
