Âşık Sümmânî, in his poems, advises good and accurate, and criticizes bad and wrong. Target of his advices and criticizes is both individuum and society. In this article, the appearances of relation between individual and society in Âşık Sümmânî’s works have been discussed. His opinions on this subject have been identified within the framework of his artistic personality extending from “Hüseyin from Narman” to “Father Sümmânî”. Additionally, how he deals with the issues related to the subject in his works, his opinion on individual and society, his perception of relation among them, also within the framework of minstrelsy tradition and in his works, how he expressed this this subject, has been analyzed.
