One of the Prophet Muhammed's miracles is to come into God’s presence and to meet with him. This journey is called “Miraj (Ascension)”. The works describing this journey, as a name of the genre, are called "Miraç-name (Book of Ascension)". In Turkish literature, first “Miraç-name” was written by Ahmed Yesevi. When the poem is examined, it is understood that Yesevi has expanded or enriched the subject adding something. This expansion is also seen in some of his wisdoms. Due to the fact that this work is considered as the first in its field, this poem has become a source and model in a sense for later Works of the same type. Süleyman Hakim Ata who is Ahmed Yesevi’s student also has a poem which is the same type. He has also expanded the subject. It could be named as “to mythologize of Miraj”. The Ottoman poet Süleyman Çelebî's Mevlid also has a Miraç-name. This work has the effect of partly Yesevi and Suleyman Hakim Ata poetry. In the same area, one of the great poet Yunus Emre also has the same type poems, and his poems also has the effects of these two poets. It could be explained by the possibility they may have arrived in Anatolia with Yesevî caliphs. In this article, Yesevi’s Miraç-name is presented and it is analysed by comparing with in comparison with several samples of the same genre.
