Abstract:

While literature often supports cinema in particular in terms of subject matter, literature and cinema relationships are sometimes intrinsic, and with the influence of cultural change, the cinema is almost a reminder of literature. So, the adaptation films from today’s literature consist of works that most viewers don’t know or know as a literary work, but they create time or don’t read. When the influence of these adaptations of films goes ahead of the literary work, when the viewers encounter the book of the film, they buy the book with a curiosity about the film. While the level of awareness of the literary work disappears alongside the film, the old reading practices also leave their place for the new reading practices. When assessed in the context of the relationship between cinema and literature, this study will discuss the reading practices of the cinema audience, and will study the interceptions with the semi-configured deep interview technique for interviews with the cinema audience. Do you know that the film you watched in the cinema is a literary work? Do you know, have you read this before? Did he read the work he came to see in the cinema, or did he hear much of the work, but did he prefer to watch in the cinema instead of reading? In light of these questions, the viewers can learn about whether literature and cinema are separated, level of consciousness, level of consciousness. At the same time, when the answers received from intervievers are evaluated from the literary point of view in the shadow of today’s cinema, the traces are important in terms of revealing the audience’s reading practices.
