Today, it is observed that, police organizations are working in a way satisfying expectations risen from so-cial, cultural and economic developments, changes and transformations, which are being experienced rapidly around the world. Thus, it is seen that, today some values stick out in the profession of the police in which communication has a vital importance. Today’s policeman is seen in a way that he expresses himself clearly, approaches to the events from various aspects and has understood well the importance of listening and establishing empathy. Briefly policeman has combined his abilities and experiences with his communication skills. Accordingly, determining emotional intelligence and attitude relating to their profession of police candi-dates to be employed in the police organization in the future studying in vocational school is very important. It is expected that, if these students have positive attitudes relating to their profession, their positive behaviors and per-formance in the future will be higher. Also, it is observed that, emotional intelligence, which means knowing own feelings, being able to manage them and perceiving others’ feelings accurately, is very important for the police, who are continuously in contact with people. The objective of this study is to examine the relation between emotional intelligence and attitudes relating to their profession of the police candidates studying in the Police Vocational School. Accordingly, ‘Bar_On EQ’ questionnaire and ‘Attitude Scale relating to the policeman’, developed for determining the factors affecting atti-tudes and taking measures against negative points after the studies relating to reliability and validity, were com-pleted and employed.
