Just after the Cold War era ends, global powers felt profoundly concerned about finding markets to sell the products they manufacture and about supplying energy sources and raw materials. This concern led the industrialized states to turn to the Middle East, the region which hosts great amounts of underground resources and has a significant economic potential, and to convert this region into a chaotic field where huge crises are experienced. This led the Middle Eastern peoples to start questioning the bad conditions they were in, and to revolt against the authoritarian regimes governing themselves with the feeling that the attitudes and behaviors of goverments were on the basis of these bad conditions. The aim of this study is to research the negative effects of civil commotions experienced in the Middle East on Turkey’s economic security.
