Abstract:

Media is one the most important tools in controlling and directing the society. The usage of media in marketing has gained great importance especially due to the progress in the capitalist production system which resulted in the increase in the amount and variety of the products. All the contents of the media coverage is prepared with the intention of increasing the consumption. The society is being directed to the consumption by utilisation of variety of methods such as entertainment, information, fascination, encouragement, etc…The media contents which are prepared by the image creators who are professional message designers are today being used in directing the society to overconsumption, and not to be satisfied with what they got so that a bigger consumer society can be created and the individuals will be rendered as slaves of the capitalist system. The most effective media content are the news because the news has inherent pretence of conveying the facts to the people this way the news programmers could be used in concealing the intentions of the message designers thus reducing the defence systems of the consumers. This article’s aim is by using literature review to explain the concept of bio-news which has been created by Ignacio Ramonet and recently included in the communication studies. In this article Ramonet describes the bio-news as a concept which is suitable to the nature and purpose of press and which contains informative and enlightning news which has not been diverted from its course or which has not been diminished in its content and he also tells us why and how the above described bio-news have been eradicated and also talks about what should be done in order to reach the bio-news again. This article also attempts to explain the effects of globalization and its related subjects, such as change in ownership structure of the media, and its technology and ideology, on the bio-news
