20. yüzyılda yaşanan uluslaşma süreçleri eğitim sistemlerini biçimlendirdi. Tarih dersleri de bundan bir yönüyle olumsuz etkilendi. Ötekiler yaratma konusunda tarih ders kitapları bir araç haline getirildi. Bu sorunu çözmek için pek çok uluslararası girişim oldu. Bunun için tarih ders kitapları incelendi. Bu çerçevede geniş bir literatür oluşmuştur. Bu çalışmada Güney Kore tarih ders kitaplarında Türk ve Osmanlı imajının durumu incelenmiştir. Tarama yöntemi ile tespit edilen kitaplardan, doküman analizi tekniği ile veri toplanmıştır. Bulgulara göre Güney Kore tarih ders kitaplarında Türk tarihiyle ilgili pek çok konu yer almakta ve Hunlardan Türkiye Cumhuriyetine kadar birçok konu işlenmektedir. Bunların içinde Osmanlı tarihi en geniş konu olarak yer almıştır. Kitaplarda gerek metin gerekse görsel unsurlarda Türklere ilişkin birkaç bilgi hatası dışında, bariz bir olumsuzluğa rastlanmamıştır. Bu olumlu durum Güney Kore’nin demokratik bir devlet olarak tarih ders kitaplarında evrensel ve çağdaş bir eğitim bakış açısını benimsediğini ve ötekileştirmeye karşı bir yaklaşım izlediğini göstermiştir.
The processes of nationalization in the 20th century has shaped educational systems. History lessons were also negatively affected by a further direction. History textbooks have been turned into a tool to create others. There have been many international initiatives to solve this problem. History textbooks have been examined for this. Within this framework, the literature has been written. In this study, the situation of the Turkish and Ottoman image was examined in South Korean history textbooks. The books that were determined by the survey method and the document analysis technique were examined. According to findings, there are many subjects related to Turkish history in South Korean history textbooks. From Huns to the present Republic of Turkey, many subjects are being studied. Among them, Ottoman history is the largest subject. In the books, neither the text nor the visual elements revealed any negativity except for a few information errors about the Turks. This shows that South Korea adopts a universal and contemporary educational perspective in history textbooks as a democratic state and follows an approach to against alienation.
