This research was designed and carried out in order to address eligibility for healthy living of the houses located in Kaleiçi of Ankara, which is an ancient settlement unit and classified as the 1st Degree Historical Urban Archeological Area. The study was carried out by involving 446 households selected from the household identification records held by Hülya Kuyumcu Health Care Center in Kaleiçi by means of using the Systematic Sampling Method. Results of the research show that all of the houses are equipped with electric facility, 51.4 % of them has 2 rooms, 5.8 % kitchen, 12.1 % bathroom and 0.6 % has water in pipes. These results reveal that the houses in the area are not satisfactory in terms of healthy housing qualifications including sufficient number of rooms, bathroom, toilet and kitchen and availability of water with pipe facility.
