Tourist guiding is one of the known oldest profession. Tourist guides are both the most important component of the purchased tour and factor that considerably affect quality of the tour. A tourist guide is the one who effectively manage the tour from beginning to the end. Yet, tourist guiding, as a profession, has not got the value that it deserves and the roles and wages of the profession has mostly been neglected. This makes important to answer the question that how tourist guides overcome these challenges and manage the stress they live. This research aims to both determine the level of psychological hardiness and the ways to manage stress of tourists guides and reveal the relationship and interaction between the two variables. The population is made up of licensed tourist guides operating around Turkey. The sample was calculated as 370 people based on 5 per cent of confidence interval. Thus, stress management and psychological hardiness have been handled in terms of tourist guides and the data was concluded with correlaion and regression analysis method. According to the findings of analysis, while a relationship was determined between active planning (sub-dimension of stress management) and psychological hardiness; not any effect of psychological hardiness was found on stress management.
