Abstract Each level of education has different teaching difficulties so that teachers must be skilled and adaptive in teaching. This study aims to compare the teaching difficulties of primary and secondary school teachers in implementing physical education learning online. This study used a quantitative approach with a comparative design using teaching skills instruments from Maksum (2012:129), consisting of 19 skills aspects circulated through Google form involving 45 participants. The results of the descriptive analysis indicated that high school teachers are more difficult to open and organize learning. Meanwhile, elementary school teachers find it more difficult to close the lesson. Furthermore, the most difficult teaching skills for high school teachers are teachers implement strategies to optimize student practice. Otherwise, the most difficult for elementary school teachers is the teacher breaks down the teaching assignments according to the students’ abilities. Meanwhile, both groups were equally easy to teach on the skill indicator “the teacher's treatment is fair, not differentiating between male and female students”. The results of the Mann-Whitney test proved that there was no significant difference in the difficulty of online teaching between the two groups of participants (0.674˃0.05). Although there is no statistical difference, teachers need to update their teaching skills which they still find difficult, so they always update their teaching skills to adapt to changing times and the learning needs of their students.
