Bu çalışma, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı (MEB) bünyesindeki okullarda görev yapan Bilişim Teknolojileri (BT) öğretmenlerinin elektronik atıklara ilişkin farkındalık düzeylerini belirlemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma, bu amaca uygun olarak nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel araştırma modeline göre yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Türkiyenin farklı bölgelerinde ve farklı okul kademelerinde görev yapan 170 (80 kadın, 90 erkek) BT öğretmeni oluşturmuştur. Verilerin toplanmasında, Öztüre (2015) tarafından geliştirilen “Bilişim Teknolojileri Öğretmenlerinin Elektronik Atık Farkındalığı Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Ölçek aracılığıyla elde edilen veriler SPSS programına aktarılmıştır. Ölçek katılımcılara uygulandıktan sonra tekrar geçerlik ve güvenirlik analizleri yapılmıştır. Ayrıca iki alt boyuttan (Bilişsel Farkındalık ve Uygulama Farkındalığı) oluşan ölçekten elde edilen verilere ait frekans (f), ortalama (M), standart sapma (SD), basıklık ve çarpıklık katsayıları hesaplanmış ve parametrik testler yapılmıştır. Çalışmada elde edilen bulgulara göre; BT öğretmenlerinin elektronik atık algılarına ilişkin uygulama ve bilişsel farkındalıklarının orta düzeyde olduğu belirlenmesine rağmen genel farkındalık düzeylerinin düşük olması dikkat çekicidir. Ayrıca cinsiyet ve mesleki tecrübeye göre anlamlı bir farklılık oluşmamsına rağmen, eğitim durumları ve yaş bağlamında anlamlı bir farklılık tespit edilmiştir. Bu verilerden hareketle konu özelinde öğretmenlerin, genel olarak da her kesimden bireylerin elektronik atıklarla ilgili farkındalıklarının arttırılması sağlanmalıdır.
This study was carried out with the aim of determining the level of awareness of the teachers of Information Technology (BT) working in schools within the Ministry of Education (MEB). The research was carried out according to the imagistic research model of the quantitative research methods in accordance with this purpose. The examples of the study were made by 170 (80 women, 90 men) IT teachers working in different regions of Turkey and different school stages. In the collection of data, the "Information Technology Teachers' Electronic Waste Awareness Scale" developed by Öztüre (2015) was used. The data obtained through the scale is transferred to the SPSS program. After the scale was applied to the participants, validity and reliability analyses were made again. Furthermore, the frequency (f), average (M), standard deviation (SD), pressure and fragility ratings of data obtained from the scale consisting of two subdimensions (Cognitive Awareness and Application Awareness) were calculated and parametric tests were carried out. According to the findings obtained in the study; it is remarkable that the general level of awareness of IT teachers is low despite the establishment that their practical and cognitive awareness of electronic waste perceptions is at a medium level. Even though there were no significant differences in terms of gender and professional experience, a significant difference in the educational conditions and age context was identified. Through these data, it is necessary to ensure that teachers, in general, and individuals from each department, are more aware of electronic waste.
This research was carried out to determine the awareness levels of Information Technologies (IT) teachers working in schools under the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) regarding electronic waste. The research was conducted according to the descriptive research model, which is one of the quantitative research methods in accordance with this purpose. The sample of the study, in different regions of Turkey and working in different school level 170 (80 women, 90 men formed) IT teachers. In the collection of data, "Information Technology Teachers' Electronic Waste Awareness Scale" developed by Öztüre (2015) was used. The data obtained through the scale were transferred to the SPSS program. After the scale was applied to the participants, validity and reliability analyzes were made again. In addition, the frequency (f), mean (M), standard deviation (SD), kurtosis and skewness coefficients of the data obtained from the scale consisting of two sub-dimensions (Cognitive Awareness and Application Awareness) were calculated and parametric tests were performed. According to the findings obtained in the study; It is noteworthy that although IT teachers' application and cognitive awareness of electronic waste perceptions are found to be moderate, their general level of awareness is low. In addition, although there was no significant difference in terms of gender and professional experience, a significant difference was found in the context of educational status and age. Based on these data, it should be ensured that the awareness of teachers, in general, of individuals from all walks of life, about electronic waste should be increased.
