Emin Nihat's book Müsameretname, which was published in parts between 1871-1875; “Binbaşı Rifat Bey’in Sergüzeşti”, “Kapı Kethüdası Behçet Efendi ile Makbule Hanım’ın Sergüzeşti”, “Bir Osmanlı Kaptanının Bir İngiliz Kızıyla Vuku Bulan Sergüzeşti”, “Gerdanlık Hikâyesi”, “Vasfi Bey ile Mukaddes Hanım’ın Sergüzeşti”, “Faik Bey ile Nuridil Hanımın Sergüzeşti”, “İhsan Hanım yahut Atiye Hanım’la Uşşakının Sergüzeşti” consists of seven stories, one of which is translated. Although it is possible to talk about the diversity of topics in the stories, the main theme is handled around a love that also exhibits daily life practices. Studies on daily life are the subject of different disciplines such as history, sociology, politics, and literature, and it also creates different sub-titles in itself due to its wide field of study, which includes elements such as space, people, and periods. In the fictional texts, the daily life practices of the elements such as the author-narrator and the hero can take place, as well as the transformation of the space over time. In this article, due to the large volume of the work, “Binbaşı Rifat Bey’in Sergüzeşti”, “Kapı Kethüdası Behçet Efendi ile Makbule Hanım’ın Sergüzeşti”, “Bir Osmanlı Kaptanının Bir İngiliz Kızıyla Vuku Bulan Sergüzeşti” “Vasfi Bey ile Mukaddes Hanım’ın Sergüzeşti” based on the aforementioned stories, it is aimed to give data on the daily life of the period, especially in Istanbul, and the formation of practices, with a classification. Although the stories contain very different elements of daily life, the titles of clothing, ceremonies, education and objects are included in the boundaries of this study.
