Kırgız Türkçesinde, Çağdaş Türk dillerinin çoğunda bilinmeyen zoo “dik uçurum“ sözcüğü vardır. Eski Türkçedeki kaya sözcüğü anlam bakımından zoo sözcüğü ile aynıdır. Bazı bilim adamlarına göre Eski Türkçedeki kaya sözcüğü ile Kırgız Türkçesindeki kıya sözcüğü köken olarak aynıdır. Bugüne değin kaya sözcüğünün etimolojisi üzerine durulmuştur, fakat zoo sözcüğünün etimolojisi üzerine bir inceleme yapılmamıştır. Bu sözcüğe bağlı olarak bir diğer önemli konu Kırgız Türklerinde kullanılan yer-su adlarıdır. Kırgızcada yer-su adları üzerine yapılan çalışmaların sayısı sınırlıdır. Boom Kapçıgay, Narın, Kökömeren, Alamüdün, Ulakol, Darkan gibi bazı yer adlarının etimolojisine bakıldığında bu sözcüklerin Moğolcadan alıntı olduğunu ve anlamlarına da ağaç, su, kıyı anlamlarına geldiğini görmekteyiz. Bu çalışmada, zoo sözcüğü ile Kırgız Türkçesindeki yer-su adlarından olan Boom Kapçıgay, Narın, Kökömeren, Alamüdün, Ulakol, Darkan üzerinde durulmaktadır. Çalışmada her bir sözcük bir madde başlığı altında ele alınmakta ve bu sözcükler bazı çağdaş Türk lehçeleri ile karşılaştırılmaktadır.
In Kyrgyz Turkish, in most of the contemporary Turkish languages there is the unknown zoo word "dick gap". The word rock in ancient Turkish is the same as the word zoo in terms of meaning. According to some scientists, the rock word in Ancient Turkish and the river word in Kyrgyz Turkish are the same as origin. It has so far been focused on the etimology of the word rock, but no study has been made on the etimology of the word zoo. Another important topic depending on this word is the land-water names used in Kyrgyz Turks. The number of work done on the land-water names in Kyrgyzstan is limited. When we look at the ethymology of some land names such as Boom Kapçıgay, Narın, Kökömeren, Alamüdün, Ulakol, Darkan, we see these words are quoted from Mongol and their meanings come to the meanings of tree, water, coast. In this study, the word zoo is focused on Boom Kapçıgay, Narın, Kökömeren, Alamüdün, Ulakol, Darkan, which is from the land-water names in Kyrgyz Turkish. In the study, each word is addressed under a subject title and these words are compared to some contemporary Turkish vocabulary.
There is the word zoo “a rock, or rocky cliff” in Kyrgyz Turkic language, which is not well known in other Turkic languages. The word kaya is used for “a rock, or rocky cliff” both in the Old Turkic and in most modern Turkic languages. However, according to some scholars, the root of the word kaya and the word kıya in Kyrgyz is similar. The etymology of the word kaya has been studied, but no etymology has been conducted on the word zoo. Another important issue related to this word zoo is the place names in Kyrgyzstan. The most place names are loanwords. When we look at the etymology of some place names, we see that the words are quoted the meanings tree, water, shore. In this study, the etymological explanation of the word zoo and the place names Boom, Narın, Çek-Nura/Orta-Nura, Alamüdün, Ala-Arça, will offered. In this study, each word is dealt separately and compared with some modern Turkic languages.
