Through the ages, beliefs and hence religion has been the most efficient one among the propaganda materials of politicians. Politicians approved by god or gods, are easily accepted by their own people or thanks to this approval they secured the position they have and became sacred or deified in terms of religion. One of the most important factors that makes politician successful beside this kind of propaganda whose material is belief, is regime. For example, while in the country ruled by republic, the politician has to work hard to be the head of government, whereas in the country ruled by monarchy the politician will take part in government in accordance with tradition. Still in both situation, the politician has been and is in need of religion or beliefs in order to secure the position he/she holds or to reach the position he/she wants to gain. In his work De Vita Duodecim Caesarum, Gaius Suetonius Tranquillus, while narrating the lives of Roman emperors starting with Julius Caesar to Domitian, has demonstrated to us that gods have been with human beings as a tool of propaganda at the same time.
