Abstract:

Karl Raimund Popper is one of the most important scientists of the twentieth century. The approach in philosophy called "creative rationalism" has been very effective in both social sciences and natural sciences. Popper’s approach has also found a response in the philosophy of physics. He questioned the foundations of quantum mechanics in the philosophy of physics, especially, and considered the achievements of the creators of modern quantum physics as the greatest achievements that scientists have ever shown. During 60 years in front of the discussions on quantum physics, he has entered a series of striking discussions with a number of outstanding physicists. In a period in which philosophy and physics rapidly disconnected, its philosophical and methodological scientific questions have also attracted attention in the physical community. So Popper mentioned his name as one of the leading opponents of the anti-realist and instrumentalist interpretation of Copenhagen of quantum mechanics. In order to disrupt Copenhagen’s interpretation and confirm scientific realism, Popper argued that Heisenberg’s uncertainty connections should be reinterpreted. This study aims to reveal his critical approach to Copenhagen’s interpretation through Heisenberg’s principle of uncertainty.
