This study was conducted in order to assess the microbiological quality of chicken eggs, in terms of the presence of Salmonella spp., purchased for the need of seven military units in Ankara Garrison. During the six-month research period 882 egg samples, taken at different times were examined. Shell, yolk and albumin samples were taken out from the eggs and Salmonella isolation protocol was applied. The results showed that there was no Salmonella spp. present in the egg samples taken from Ankara Garrison, which suggested that not only the producers had to comply with the statutory regulations and suppliers with the chicken egg requirements of Turkish Armed Forces but also their awareness had increased
