Abstract:

In our study, we evaluated the clinical and pathological characteristics of "high grade" non-Hodgkin lymphoma (HDL) patients monitored in our hospital, treatment results and survival periods. We evaluated 26 (women/man: 16/10) HDL patients monitored in our oncology clinic between 1997-2000 as retrospective. The median monitoring period was 22 months. The average age was 60.5 (15-79) years. Our patients were 10 (38.5 percent) stage I, 10 (38.5 percent) stage II, 3 (11.5 percent) stage III, and 3 (11.5 percent) stage IV. Patients received 6 CHOP (cyclophosphamide, adriamisine, vinkristin, prednisolone) chemotherapy. 14 (53.8) patients were given radiotherapy (RT) in addition. The post-treatment objective response rate was 73.1 (19 facts). 2 series chemotherapy (KT) was administered to 7 patients who showed no response or subsequent progress. During the observation period, 8 (38.8%) patients died. 18 (69.2% of patients are continued to be monitored. In Survi analysis, the median life without illness was 43 months, the 3 year life without illness was 60.1 percent, the median overall survival was 52 months, and the 3 year overall survival was 66.4 percent. When patients were classified according to the "International Prognostic Index" (IPI), a statistically meaningful relationship between IPI and non-sick survival and general survival was found (p=0.002, p=0.003, log-rank test). The three-year data of the patients followed by the HDL diagnosis was assessed in accordance with the literature.
