Abstract:

The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of educational practices against noise in the school on primary school students. The method of action research is used as a method of research. The research was conducted using the appropriate sampling method in a state primary school in Izmir. 205 students participated in the study. A student survey consisting of 20 questions has been used as a data collection tool. Volunteer 6 class teachers performed 10 noise activities in their classes to raise awareness of the subject in students. The activities were carried out before and after the implementation. A frequency analysis was carried out for changes in student views as a result of the noise training activities. The findings showed that students were aware of noise in the school, but the training did not pass to the behavioral dimension. The change in the behavior of the students was short-term and temporary.  It is believed that a work should be done in schools to prevent noise pollution. The training on the issue of noise can also be included by teachers, managers and guardians. To create a positive and healthy school climate, a quiet learning environment is needed at every stage of education. In addition to the training work on the sources of noise within the building, measures on the sources of noise outside the building should be taken. It is recommended that the competent authorities take measures on the subject for the necessary structural measures.
