Abstract:

Purpose: In this study, Legionella spp was taken from different units of a hospital providing third-level health care between July 25, 2019 and November 1, 2019. It is intended to investigate other pathogenic microorganisms. Tools and Methods: The mechanical ventilator located in the hospital’s laboratory, surgical room and various intensive care units, air output points of air-conditioning filters and the washing shells were taken with 92 shell samples. All samples were inoculated into buffered charcoal-yeast extract agara and other conventional foods, which were directly a selective diet for Legionella by centralizing. With cultural and serological tests, 6 samples of Legionella positive were randomly selected and 16S rRNA series were analyzed to identify at the species level. Results: in 24 cultures (26,08) Legionella spp. Compatible with the colony. Only three of the 6 samples identified the serogram were confirmed by molecular identification. These are Legionella pneumophila subsp. The other pneumophila was defined as Legionella anisa. From the filters of mechanical ventilators Penicillium spp., Aspergillus flavus, Acinetobacter baumannii, Morganella morganii, Moraxella spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa and an example of moisture, Escherichia coli were isolated. The result: Legionella spp in high risk patients. The potential exposure should be eliminated by increased sampling frequency and effective control measures.
