Today, in order not to get lost in the ever-increasing accumulation of knowledge, skills such as accessing information, using information, managing and evaluating must be acquired by individuals. Curriculum, which is one of the basic elements of education, has important duties in order to gain these skills to individuals. Various skills are also included in the social studies course curriculum, which is included in life. Some of these skills have emerged as various literacy skills, taking into account the basic characteristics of the disciplines that the social studies course is related to. These skills were added to the social studies course curriculum as various literacy skills with the update studies carried out in 2018. With the addition of literacy skills to the curriculum, it was wondered how there was a change in literacy skills between 2005 and 2018 social studies curriculum. For this reason, it is aimed to analyze the 2005 and 2018 social studies course curriculums comparatively in terms of literacy skills. The study was carried out in accordance with the descriptive scanning model and the document analysis method was used. In this direction, in the study, the acquisitions containing literacy skills in the 2005 and 2018 social studies curriculum were determined, and the two curriculums were examined and compared in terms of literacy skills. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the literacy skills included in the 2018 Social Studies Curriculum were also included in the 2005 curriculum and the same literacy skills were included in the two curriculums at similar grade levels and in similar learning areas
