In our daily life, we frequently come across news of violence against women and femicide. The frequent and detailed coverage of such news normalizes the event and even damages the seriousness of the event by making it a tabloid. Although the number of studies on violence against women has increased in recent years, a definite solution has not been reached. The main starting point of this research is to try to understand the reaction of the audience watching the news rather than examining the news as content. The study aims to reveal the perspective of the society on the news of violence against women and femicide in the media and news bulletins. Within the scope of the study, in-depth interviews were conducted with 20 participants of different ages, genders and marital status. In these interviews, it was concluded that violence can be prevented by education given in the family at the youngest ages, the details in the news arouse people's violent impulses and create the potential for negative behaviors, the inadequacy of sanctions and the frequent coverage of the news both in the social media and in the main news bulletins make the issue ordinary. In addition, it has been stated that positive discrimination against women is abused in some cases and causes more harm to women.
