Dienes’in Öğrenme Teorisine Göre Yapılandırılmış Etkinliklerin Öğrenci Başarısına Etkisi

Abstract:

Bu araştırmanın genel amacı, Dienes’in 6 aşamalı teorisine göre işlenilen bir dersin öğrencilerin akademik başarısına etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma 2016-2017 Eğitim Öğretim yılının ikinci döneminde, Kastamonu ili merkez ilçesinde Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı faaliyet gösteren bir devlet okulunun altıncı sınıfında öğrenim gören toplam 45 öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Çalışma yarı deneysel desen modeline göre gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yansız atama ile belirlenen iki gruptan biri deney grubu (n=24), diğeri ise kontrol grubu (n=21) olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada deney grubunun yer aldığı dersler Dienes’in 6 Aşamalı Teorisine göre yürütülmüşken, kontrol grubuna ise klasik yöntemle ders anlatılmıştır. Araştırmada nicel veriler, öğrencilerin akademik başarısını ölçmek için gerçekleştirilen akademik başarı ölçeği ile toplanmıştır. Ayrıca deney grubu öğrencilerinin oyun ve etkinlikler ile ilgili görüşlerini incelemek amacıyla da yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen nicel veriler istatistikî teknikler belirlenerek SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) paket programı yardımıyla analiz edilmiştir. Görüşmelerden elde edilen veriler ise içerik analiz yaklaşımı ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, araştırmaya katılan deney ve kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin akademik başarı testinden aldıkları test puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılaşma olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Ancak deney grubunda yer alan Dienes’in 6 aşamalı teorisine göre yapılan etkinliklere olumlu görüş bildirdikleri görülmüştür.

Dienes' Learning Theory: The Impact of Structured Events on Student Success

Abstract:

The general purpose of this research is to study the impact of a course processed according to Dienes’ 6 stage theory on student academic success. Research 2016-2017 Education was conducted in the second semester of the teaching year, with a total of 45 students studying in the sixth class of a state school that operates in connection with the Ministry of National Education in the central district of Kastamonu. The study was conducted according to the semi-experimental pattern. One of the two groups determined by reflectless assignment is the experimental group (n=24), the other is the control group (n=21) and the other is the test group (n=24). The lessons included in the experimental group were conducted according to Dienes’s six-stage theory, while the control group was taught in the classical method. Quantitative data in the research is collected with the scale of academic success carried out to measure the academic success of students. Also, a semi-configured interview form was used to study the opinions of the experimental group students about the games and events. Quantitative data obtained from the study were analyzed using the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) package program to identify statistical techniques. The data obtained from the discussions is resolved by content analysis approach. The study found that there was no significant differentiation between the test scores that students of the experiment and control group involved in the study received from the academic success test. However, according to Dienes’s six-step theory, the experiment group has shown positive views on the activities.
